Kirkby House receives a makeover!

Meridian Healthcare continues its investment programme with an impressive refurbishment at Kirkby House Care Centre in Kirkby, Knowsley.

Lounge and dining areas have been altered to make them more homely and attractive for residents. 'We have gone for a smaller more home from home feel so that residents can meet together in smaller communities. Whether this is whilst they take part in an activity or whether residents simply want to sit and read, our new lounge and dining areas feel more like home.' Commented Tracey Conlin, Manager of Kirkby House. The residents of Kirkby House will also benefit from the addition of a kitchenette and dining area to one of the smaller lounges.

The extensive work, which completed at the beginning of October 2009, has also seen the replacement of all corridor carpets and new flooring and furniture in the main dining room. The manager's office has been moved to provide easier access to Tracey for families and visitors and new staff facilities have also been added. 

 

 

 

Kirkby House provides residential care for up to 44 clients with dementia related conditions. All accommodation is provided in spacious, single bedrooms, many of which have en suite facilities. There are a number of lounge and dining areas and attractive outdoor areas that residents can enjoy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This investment is part of an ongoing programme to raise living standards of older people in Meridian 's residential and nursing care centres. Over £20 million of investment has been made in the last 4 years alone throughout the group, in order to provide new care centres and additional facilities for residents such as new conservatories, hairdressing salons, kitchenettes and en suite facilities in bedrooms.
