Lauren Court Celebrates Diamond Jubilee

Published 8th June 2012

Residents at Lauren Court Care Centre celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in style.

To celebrate this special occasion the manager and team at Lauren Court decorated the dining room and conservatory with bunting, flags and red, white and blue balloons, and tables were set up for the residents to enjoy the party.

On the morning of the 4th June the ladies had their hair and make up done by Kane, a senior care assistant, and Sarah the deputy manager in preparation for the celebrations. They then dressed up in fancy hats and fascinators while the gentlemen wore Union Jack bowler hats.

Kitchen staff prepared a lovely buffet lunch and Jubilee cake which was washed down with a glass of wine or two.

Residents were entertained by singer Alan Davies/Elvis – one of the residents' favourites – who had everyone up singing and dancing.

As you can see from the photographs, a great day was had by all; the residents still haven’t stopped talking about it.
