Town Players take a tour of The Oakes

Award-winning Meridian Healthcare is proud to announce that brand new care centre The Oakes is now open. The luxury care home offers state of the art accommodation and superb care in the Oakes area of Huddersfield.

To celebrate the successful opening of the care centre, footballers Andy Booth and Jordan Rhodes from Huddersfield Town FC were invited for an exclusive tour of the facility on the 24th April.

The Oakes offers vital high quality residential and specialist dementia care for the area. The home features sporting memorabilia from Huddersfield Town and The Giants alongside day-to-day objects in reminiscence areas for residents and their families. Spacious lounges, restaurants, a grand piano and a fantastic Victorian style shop are amongst some of the other amazing facilities for residents on site.

The new home features large deluxe bedrooms all of which benefit from a walk-in shower. In addition the home has a library, hairdressing salon and a relaxation day spa. Rooms vary with some offering views over Castle Hill and some having private patio doors onto garden areas.

The home will provide vital care and support for the people of Huddersfield and the surrounding area; providing a social and engaging environment with strong connections with the local community. In Kirklees the number of older people is set to rise by 33% over the next 10 years so this new facility has come at an ideal time to cater to the needs of our older generations.
