How we care
We aim to give people staying in residential care homes the highest standard of services possible, with a range of specialist assistance available. What's more, our residential care homes provide a safe, warm and secure environment that will soon become a home from home. Of course, residents are treated with respect at Meridian care homes regardless of their age, sex, race or religious beliefs, and we value the input of their relatives into how they should be looked after.
Our aims for care homes
Meridian Healthcare Limited has a variety of goals that we strive to achieve in order to provide quality residential care homes. This means we closely monitor residents, as well as ensure our care homes are homely, secure places. We:
- Employ committed staff, trained to deal with a wide range of care demands.
- Show the utmost respect to our residents, preserving their individuality, privacy and dignity at all times.
- Follow best practice care rules in accordance with the very latest research and guidelines.
- Provide the best possible health care homes in the north west.
- Ensure there are staff available to assist at residential care homes round the clock.
- Understand that everybody is different, and should therefore be treated as an individual.
An all-round approach to residential care
Meridian's residential care homes operate on the basis of all-round care. Care home residents should be comfortable and happy in their new home, so we ensure that all the bedrooms are spacious, bright and airy. Many have adapted en suite bathrooms, or a colour TV for a bit of quiet time. Meanwhile, when an elderly person moves permanently into our residential care homes they can bring as many of their personal belongings as they like; this helps give their room a personal touch and feel more cosy.
Our residential care homes place a firm emphasis on healthcare, which can improve quality of life for our residents. This holistic nursing care includes providing hearty, nutritionally-balanced meals three times a day, encouraging residents to stay active mentally and physically with a range of activities, and of course, making sure everybody is happy and having fun; you're never too old to be young at heart.
Healthcare provisions at residential care homes also include on-call nurses, and the ability to organise a visit from a dentist, GP or optician. Of course, not every elderly person can be properly looked after at a residential care home. Those with an illness or disability that requires round-the-clock care or complex medical intervention will find a Meridian nursing care home more suited to their needs. Meanwhile, our dementia care homes provide specialist care and activities for residents who need it.
