Investors in People (IIP) GOLD
For many years all Meridian Healthcare care centres have been IIP accredited, the benefits we've seen in achieving this status have been evident in every part of our organisation.
At the end of 2011 Meridian Healthcare was awarded the Investors in
People Gold status, which is the highest level that any company can
achieve in the Investors in People programme.

What does the IIP standard mean?
The Investors in People Gold provides a framework that helps
organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through the
effective management and development of their people. Meridian have been praised for:
- Open management style - the supportive approach enables people to give their best at every level within the company. Managers listen to staff views and are generally seen as sharing information widely, with a strong focus on the individual, one-to-one level;
- Commitment to Learning and Development - continues to be at a high level and the company takes time and considerable effort to ensure that the best possible training is selected for staff.
We have been commended for the 'grown our own' approach which involves significant support for employees who wish to progress up the career ladder. We have designed and improved internal training programmes over the years and now have three distinct programmes: Senior in Training; Deputy in Training and Manager in Training. These enable staff to learn progressively and to take advantage of job opportunities as they arise. It has meant that many of our current deputies and managers have worked their way up through the programme from being a carer.
