The entries are in, votes have been made and Sandon House is proud to reveal the name of their new garden room as ‘The Glen’. Care Centre Manager Irene Booth presented competition winner, Angela Norton, a District Nurse with Tameside & Glossop PCT her gift voucher prize on the 11th June.

The new garden room, completed in May 2008, is the final touch to an extensive makeover of Sandon House in Mossley to modernise the interior décor and fittings to bring them up to the standards of a five star hotel. The large, bright and comfortable sun lounge was added in order to increase the lounge area and provide a quiet room for residents to relax and socialise in.

Angela Norton a District Nurse who is based in Mossley Medical Centre has visited Sandon House at least twice a week for the past 2 years and is impressed with the transformation the care centre has undergone, she comments: ‘Sandon House is lovely, there is always a nice atmosphere whenever I visit and the new lounge is beautiful, it seems very popular with the residents, the décor is wonderful place to relax in.’

Care Centre Manager Irene Booth commented: ‘We had many excellent entries for the name for the garden room, however Angela’s suggestion of ‘The Glen’ seemed fitting as the existing lounge is called the ‘Highlands Lounge’. I would like to thank everyone who took part in the competition and I hope Angela treats herself to something nice with her vouchers.’
