There were celebrations all around at Meridian Healthcare’s Kingsfield Care Centre on the 13th June as the staff and residents wished Assistant Cook Jean Davis and Care Assistant Sheila Bennison Happy 60th Birthday and also wish them all the best for their retirement.

Presenting the ladies with beautiful bouquets of flowers and presents from the team at Kingsfield, Deputy Manager Lynda Philips commented: Jean has been with us almost 20 years and there is no one who makes better cakes in the whole of Tameside. Sheila has been with us 10 years and is loved dearly by the residents for her kind and friendly nature. Both ladies are hard workers who always smile and go the extra mile for all of us, we wish you both all the best for the future and hope you enjoy your retirement, you will be greatly missed here at Kingsfield so make sure you visit!’

Both ladies are sad to be leaving Kingsfield but intend to thoroughly enjoy their new found free time, Jean comments: ‘I am looking forward to enjoying myself and having more time to go out with my friends, there are a few of us who love to go out to lunch, chat, shop and generally relax so I can honestly say I don’t think I will get bored!’ Sheila added: ‘I think we will both miss our friends here at Kingsfield for the smiles and the banter, however we will make sure that we visit and still socialise with everyone because they are a great group of people to work with. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped organise and attend the party today we have had a fabulous day.’
