Meridian Healthcare is proud to announce the appointment of Care Centre Manager Carl Stevenson for their new development, Rievaulx House in Armley Leeds.

Rievaulx House is Meridian’s latest care centre and is on schedule to open in July 2008. The care centre will provide residential care for up to 48 older people in beautiful surroundings. The facilities include, large single bedrooms all with en suite ‘wet rooms’, spacious lounge and dining areas, an in house cinema room and hairdressing salon/ nail bar where residents can relax and enjoy a bit of pampering.

Carl started out his career with Meridian as a Care Assistant, developing his skills and knowledge to progress through the roles of Senior Carer and Deputy Manager to Care Centre Manager. Carl completed the company’s internal management training course in 2006 and went on to achieve NVQ Level 4 and is now working towards the Registered Managers Award. He was previously Registered Manager for April Park in Derbyshire – another Meridian home.

Carl is delighted with his new appointment, he commented: ‘I am really excited to be taking on this new role at Rievaulx House, I have been over to Leeds to view the progress of the building a few times and it is magnificent. I relish the opportunity to manage such a beautiful care centre and I am really looking forward to building a first class care team to provide care of the highest standard for our new residents, care which compliments the beautiful environment.’

Group Operations Director, Susan Firth commented: ‘It has been great to watch Carl develop his career during his time with Meridian to become such an effective Care Centre Manager. He has done a fabulous job as Care Centre Manager over the past 12 months at April Park Nursing & Care Centre and on behalf of all of the management team at Meridian I would like to wish Carl all the best in his new role at Rievaulx House.’
