LAUREN COURT CARE ASSISTANT NOMINATED FOR REGIONAL AWARDS
Mother of two, Angela previously had no qualifications and had been long term unemployed before she came to Meridian Healthcare’s Lauren Court Care Centre as part of a work based placement. The placement was included in her 10-week course on Health & Social Care with West Cheshire College. Angela was an instant hit with the team at Lauren Court and consequently was offered a permanent position in the residential care centre for older people. She has now taken on the opportunity to further her education supported by Meridian Healthcare and is studying towards NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care while she works.
Angela says: ‘I’m so happy with what I’ve achieved. The course has completely changed my life. I’ve now secured permanent employment and have the prospects of furthering my career.’
Care Centre Manager Debbie Wilson commented: ‘All of the team at Lauren Court are thrilled that Angela has been shortlisted for an award, she worked extremely hard during her placement, she is friendly, great with the residents and enthusiastic to learn, and we feel she is going to be a great asset to the care centre. On behalf of all of the team and the residents at Lauren Court we wish Angela the best of luck at the finals on the 27th June, we are all very proud of her achievements.’
