GREATWOOD HOUSE IN DENTON GOES THE EXTRA MILE
The 3 stars are the highest accolade awarded by The Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) who visit all care centres annually to assess the service provided to residents. The CSCI report states that ‘People who use this service experience excellent quality outcomes.’
Care Centre Manager Marie McPherson puts the results of the inspection down to ”fantastic teamwork - all of the staff here at Greatwood House work really well together, from the domestics through to the senior carers, we all support each other to ensure that best practice is always displayed in all areas. We are great believers in training and all of the team go through a thorough induction programme when they join us and then take part in ongoing training, assessment and observation throughout their careers.” The excellent training regime at Greatwood House is reflected in their current figure of over 75% of staff having achieved NVQ in Health & Social Care Level 2 or above.
Marie comments: ‘It is not only the amount of training our team complete it is the positive attitude to work they present, a testament to this is feedback given from a resident to the inspector during her visit. The resident said: “All the staff are cheerful to residents and visitors alike and they will go the extra mile to help make the residents happy and comfortable.” This Marie adds “Is what makes Greatwood House such a lovely place to live and work in, I would like to congratulate the team for all their hard work, it is greatly appreciated.”
