HILDA & GEORGE CELEBRATE 59 YEARS IN LOVE
Ex Cheshire Regiment Soldier George Jones and his new bride moved to Gee Cross shortly after their marriage in 1949, after moving to the Isle of Man for a period they both returned to Cheshire to enjoy their retired years together.
Grandparents of 4 and great grandparents of 3, George’s face breaks into a cheeky grin and says he puts their long lasting love down to ‘A good row everyday!’ he adds: ‘It is one of those things that happens, we have a lot of fun together and Hilda always supported my passion for sport, especially cricket.’
Care Centre Manager Helen Hubbert commented: ‘On behalf of all of George & Hilda’s friends here at Hyde Nursing & Care Centre I would like to congratulate them on such a fabulous achievement, it is nice to see a couple still so in love after 59 years. I must admit they know how to celebrate in style, with family and friends all coming over and plenty of bubbly flowing, I hope they have enjoyed their day and wish them well for the many years to come.’
