WHITE ROSE HOUSE WELCOME SOME UNUSUAL VISITORS

27/03/2008
The residents at White Rose House are always game for an exciting activity and in house Activities Coordinator Julie Hunter rose to the occasion once again on Tuesday 18th March by arranging a visit from the animals from nearby zoo Ponderosa Park.

Reptile Keeper Paul Stead visited White Rose House with a selection of interesting animals for the residents to meet, touch and learn about. The animals included a snake, bearded Dragon, a huge rabbit, domestic rat and a guinea pig. Activities Coordinator Julie Hunter commented: ‘We have visited Ponderosa Park in the past with small groups of residents and they absolutely loved the experience, the whole park is set up with people with mobility difficulties in mind and the residents found it very therapeutic to stroke and touch the animals and also to learn something new. Due to the popular interest in the visit I decided to contact Ponderosa Park to see if they would visit us, it has been a lovely afternoon and definitely a fun break from the norm, I hope all the residents enjoyed the experience.’
