As the completion of the new 15 bedroom extension at Fazakerley House draws closer, resident Elizabeth Bailey has won the competition to name the new lounge.

Elizabeth, known to her friends as Betty was awarded a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates by Care Centre Manager Catherine Atkinson for choosing the name of the new lounge. Betty put forward the suggestion of the ‘Engel Suite’ in recognition of the work, love and dedication shown by local Rev Jeff Engel who is a long standing friend of Fazakerley House and also the local Prescot community. Betty commented on her choice of name: ‘Jeff is a lovely man, who would do anything for anybody, he has dedicated his time over many years working with Prescot Parish Church with all members of the community to bring people together. I thought this would be a fitting tribute to a man who even though he has now retired has given and still gives so much to all of us at Fazakerley House.

As part of her prize Betty will be helping local comedy legend Ken Dodd to officially open the extension in April.
