CENTURY CELEBRATIONS FOR KETHA

13/12/2007
Residents and staff at Greatwood House helped Ketha Bowkers celebrate her 100th Birthday with a party at the home on Monday 10th December.

Ketha, who has been a resident at Greatwood House in Denton since 1997 was joined by fellow residents, her nieces and nephews and Lord Mayor of Tameside Councillor Ian Smith to celebrate this momentous occasion with a cheese and wine party.

Local Hattersley lady Ketha received her telegram from the Queen on her official Birthday on Saturday the 8th December and was presented with a card and a beautiful bouquet of flowers by Tameside Mayor Councillor Ian Smith and gifts from Greatwood House, Ketha also received cards and flowers from as far away as Australia and Canada from family who unfortunately couldn’t make it to the celebrations.

Care Centre Manager Marie McPherson comments: ‘Ketha has been with us at Greatwood House for over 10 years and she is remarkable for her age, she thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations and meeting the Mayor. On behalf of all at Greatwood House and Meridian Healthcare I would like to wish Ketha a very Happy Birthday and wish her all the best for the many to come.’
