Staff, Residents and Guests at Sunnyside Care Centre in Droylsden celebrated the completion of a stunning makeover with a party at the home yesterday afternoon.

Sunnyside has undergone a complete interior transformation in the past five months which has seen the home which was once dark and old fashioned turn into a bright, spacious environment that could rival many 5 star hotels.

The investment project has included the creation of 3 additional en suite bedrooms, the refurbishment of existing bedrooms and all communal areas with tasteful, modern décor and new fixtures and fittings.

Care Centre Manager Sharon Saund is thrilled with the new look at Sunnyside she comments: ‘The past few months have been a challenge with the refurbishment work going on, however looking at the end result it has been completely worth the wait, Sunnyside looks like a totally different home. I would like to say a big thank you to all of our residents and their relatives for their patience and understanding while the work has taken place and I hope that they will enjoy their new surroundings, I know the new large plasma screen televisions in the lounges have been a instant big hit.’

Residents and relatives enjoyed yesterdays party at the home and were astonished with the fantastic finish, comments from feedback cards in the home included: ‘Style, taste and comfort’ – ‘The residential home is beautiful and a pleasure to walk around, and gives a lovely home-like atmosphere.’
