Staff and Residents at Meridian Healthcare’s White Rose House in Holmfirth partied the afternoon away last week with a proud to be British reminiscence day.

Everyone dressed up in red white and blue, with staff donating money to the resident’s activity fund for wearing non uniform for the day. Old fashioned food made with similar ingredients to those available in the times of rations was served and all participated in a sing a long to classic songs from the war time era.

In-house Activities Coordinator, Julie Hunter who arranged the party commented: ‘Our residents always enjoy reminiscence activities and it was nice to do something different for a day, to get dressed up and to have a party and a sing a long could raise a smile from anybody. A big thank you to all of the nurses and care team at White Rose House who joined in the spirit of the day by dressing up and donating money to the Resident’s fund which is used for special events and trips.’
