MERIDIAN DUO SHORTLISTED FOR CARE AWARDS 2007
The Care Awards is an annual event to promote excellence across the care industry. Individuals are nominated in recognition of the outstanding work they carry out and for the passion and commitment they display for their role.
Lifetime Achievement in Care finalist, Rita Shockledge is Care Centre Manager at Ashton-under-Lyne home Kingsfield which specialises in providing residential care for 54 older people with Dementia related conditions. Rita, whose nomination was supported by her colleagues both within Meridian Healthcare and external agencies, residents and relatives is noted for her personal approach to managing her home with passion and dedication.
Care Marketeer finalist Sarah Molloy is Registered Care Centre Manager for Meridian’s Liverpool home Ash Court but is currently on secondment to the group’s most recent acquisition, Lauren Court in Chester. Upon Sarah’s arrival at Lauren Court, the home was a recently new build having only opened in Spring 2006, the 47 bed home had few residents and was not widely known in the local community or within the social services network in Chester. Sarah has worked tirelessly to promote Lauren Court and has hosted many successful events with the residents, local community and external agencies in order to display to a wider audience the first class facilities on offer in the home.
Both Managers have excellent experience in the social care sector and all of the team at Meridian Healthcare and the residents at Lauren Court and Kingsfield wish the ladies the best of luck at the award ceremony at London’s Hilton Metropole Hotel on the 24th of November.
