Meridian Healthcare’s John Joseph Powell Nursing and Care Centre (JJP) in Prescot celebrated the completion of major refurbishment work to the home with an open day party on Wednesday 15th August.

The refurbishment project has transformed the old fashioned looking home with a stunning modern, hotel style makeover creating 5 star accommodation to compliment the excellent nursing care provided by the staff at JJP. The popular nursing home in the centre of Prescot has been treated to fresh decoration throughout all bedrooms and communal areas with new fixtures, fittings and furniture helping to create a bright contemporary relaxing environment for the residents to enjoy. JJP has also extended its facilities with a beautiful conservatory lounge overlooking the pond so that residents can enjoy the summer sun and an additional bedroom enabling the home to care for up to 45 older people.

Staff, residents and their guests gathered for an afternoon tea party at the home on Wednesday to celebrate the completion of the work in style, Care Centre Manager Dot Pye commented: ‘I’d like to thank everyone who joined us to celebrate, it has been a busy couple of months for us while the refurbishment work was being carried out but I think I can speak on behalf of all the staff and residents in saying what a amazing difference it has made, the wait was definitely worth it.’
