Meridian Healthcare’s Lauren Court Care Centre in Chester played host to a special guest for afternoon tea and cakes on Thursday 5th July.

Lord Mayor of Chester, Councillor James Latham and Lady Mayoress of Chester, Hilary Latham visited the Care Centre to take a tour around the purpose built facilities, to meet residents and enjoy a cup of tea and strawberry and cream scone as part of the home’s 1st birthday celebrations.

Lauren Court is located close to Chester City Centre and provides 1st class residential care for up to 47 older people. Built in May 2006 the award winning Meridian Healthcare group acquired the home in December of the same year and has recently finished minor redecoration to the upstairs lounge and new furniture to the reception and dining area in order to give the home the Meridian touch.

Lord Mayor, Councillor James Latham was impressed by his visit to Lauren Court and commented: ‘Hilary and I very much enjoyed our meeting and were extremely impressed by the high standard of general specification of the building and comprehensive facilities for the residents and would like to compliment Meridian Healthcare on such a comfortable and friendly home.’ Lady Mayoress Hilary Latham added: ‘I would like to say Lauren Court could rival the best hotels for interior design and comfort and note how nice it was that all of the residents spoke so highly of the staff and the care they provide.’

Care Centre Manager Sarah Molloy commented: ‘On behalf of the staff and residents at Lauren Court we would like to thank the Lord Mayor for joining us this afternoon, it is nice for us to be able to show off our beautiful home and great for the residents to meet such an important figure in the local community. Really at Lauren Court we love any excuse for a celebration and this afternoons tea party follows on from our formal birthday party last month and other ongoing activities in the home.’
