SUNNYSIDE STAFF SOAR TO NEW HEIGHTS FOR CHARITY
Five members of staff from Sunnyside participated in the ejection seat reverse bungee challenge in front of the City of Manchester stadium on Sunday 20th May raising over £500 for The Doctor Jaffe Renal Unit at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in Pendlebury.
Care Assistant Allison Mather was nervous as she and her colleagues were strapped in to the twin seat sphere-shaped capsule, before being launched approximately 32 metres (105ft) above Manchester leaving lunch behind and hurtling headfirst towards the clouds experiencing 4.8G. Following a series of bounces, somersaults and spins they were lowered back down to the ground, Allison comments ‘Call it bravery or stupidity but I really enjoyed it, I was so nervous as they strapped us into the capsule, but what a fantastic experience, it was awesome and I would definitely do it again, a big thank you to all of our sponsors, the money we raised is going to such a good cause.’
