ROBY HOUSE'S ARTISTIC SUPPORT FOR THE REDS IN ATHENS

23/05/2007
Residents at Meridian Healthcare’s Roby House in Huyton are showing their support for local Liverpool Football Club in Athens tonight by teaming up with a local school to produce a banner of support.

The project organised by Knowsley Art Associates enlisted the help of local school Blacklow Brow Primary School to create the designs for the banner to be taken to the match in Athens today by a member of the Knowsley Art Associates. Roby House residents were asked if they would make the designs come to life and produce the artwork for the banner.

Care Centre Manager Pam Case commented: ‘I was thrilled when we were contacted by the Art Associates, our residents always enjoy art activities and all were impressed with the imaginative design produced by the children, the fact we have some avid Liverpool Football Fans here at Roby House only made the project all the more enjoyable.’

The final banner was unveiled by Pam Case, residents from Roby House, staff and students from Blacklow Brow at a ceremony at the school on Wednesday 22nd May for photographers from the local newspaper the Liverpool Echo. Pam adds: ‘It is so nice to see the two generations get on so well and work together, I would like to say on behalf of the residents at Roby House, a big thank you to the students at Blacklow Brow for their imagination and creativity in designing the banner and to the Knowsley Art Associates for offering us the honour of producing the artwork. We will all be looking out for the banner on the television and all that is left to say is – Come on you Reds!’
