Meridian Healthcare’s Christine Evans received the company’s top award on Tuesday 24th of April. Operations Manager Mrs Mandy Bennett presented Christine with the Gold Employee Merit at White Rose House Care Centre in Holmfirth.

Meridian Healthcare’s Gold Employee Merit is the highest accolade awarded by the company in recognition of excellent performance, attitude and commitment. Nominations for the award are sent to head office by the employees at each of the care centres and a winner is drawn quarterly.

Bubbly Christine was overwhelmed at the surprise presentation at the care centre, she commented shortly after the presentation: ‘I was totally shocked, since I have been at White Rose House I have been promoting the employee merit scheme to the staff as a way of recognising colleagues who they feel consistently go beyond their job role I never dreamed I would have been voted for, I thought I was simply doing my job.’

Christine is no stranger to awards. She won the UK Care Centre Manager Award in 2004. A registered manager for over 15 years she was still delighted to receive the award: ‘To receive the employee merit award is a great honour as it is voted for by the staff, it is nice to know I have made a good impact in my time at White Rose House.’

Operations Manager Mandy Bennett commented: ‘The award has come at a fantastic time for Christine, who returns to her post at Stamford Court on the 8th May as it is recognition of the marvellous job she has done here at White Rose House. Christine has definitely left a unique mark on the staff and I think I can speak on behalf of them all when I say her warm and cheerful personality will be greatly missed.’

As part of her award Christine received a certificate, flowers and shopping vouchers which she intends to spend on furniture for the garden so that she can enjoy the summer.
