Easter is not all about one weekend for the ladies at Meridian Healthcare’s Greatwood House.

For weeks residents have been designing their Easter bonnets with mechanical precision and artistic flair for the competition of the year that took place on the 4th April at the care centre.

Dressed to the nines, 10 ladies donned their bonnets for the judging carried out by Care Centre Manager Marie McPherson commented: ‘All the ladies looked beautiful and certainly had fun creating their masterpieces, unfortunately there had to be only one winner, an elegant red hat with cute yellow Easter chicks on top designed and created by resident Mary Thornton.’ Mary was presented with a large Galaxy Easter egg prize and all of the runners up received smaller chocolate eggs. Marie adds: ‘I’d like to say a big thank you to all the ladies who took part in the competition and hope they enjoyed making their bonnets as much as we enjoyed judging them.’
