KIRKBY HOUSE DANCES THE AFTERNOON AWAY

05/04/2007
Always game for a party in Kirkby, residents at Meridian Healthcare’s Kirkby House celebrated Easter with a boogie on the dancefloor on Wednesday afternoon.

Organised by staff at Kirkby House, the residents were entertained on a by live music provided by Carol a relative of one of the care centre’s residents. Joined by members of Knowsley’s Age Concern Activity Group, residents were quickly up dancing and clapping in time to the sound of country and western music that filled the dining room providing a party atmosphere complimented by the sun of a beautiful spring day streaming in through the windows.

Care Centre Manager, Madeleine Ward commented: ‘It is nice to see the residents enjoying themselves so much, they had all of the staff up and dancing and with it being the school holidays some of our resident’s grandchildren joined the party which added to the fun, I don’t know who was more worn out by teatime the staff or the residents! On behalf of everyone at Kirkby House I would like to thank our guests from Age Concern for joining us, we hope they had as much fun as we did. Also a big thank you to Carol for sharing her musical talent with us I feel live music is always better than a CD anyday.’

Madeleine adds, ‘On behalf of Meridian Healthcare I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.’
