Achievements in the workplace are always an event to be proud of. Knowing you have gone the extra mile for a client makes a job seem worth while. Meridian Healthcare’s Dianne Wheeler is one of those stars who certainly goes beyond the expectations of residents at April Park and often runs further than the extra mile to do so.

Dianne has been a domestic at April Park in Eckington for 2 years but in her spare time she is a keen marathon runner, having recently completed the Sheffield half marathon for the second time. In the breast cancer run the 10k heart foundation Dronsfield she raised £148 for the April Park resident’s fund.

This money is valuable to the care centre as it helps to fund extra activities, excursions and entertainment afternoons for the residents to enjoy. Acting Care Centre Manager Carl Stephenson is amazed by Dianne’s achievement, he comments: ‘To run one half marathon is a huge achievement in itself, something most of us could never do. To do more than one is fantastic. Everyone at April Park is very proud of Dianne and her charity work such as the resident’s comfort fund which is invaluable because through her passion for running she is bringing joy to others. On behalf of all the staff at April Park we wish her every success in upcoming events.’

Dianne’s charity work continues as she plans her entry to 4 further 10k runs and 2 half marathons, through the completion of each one she will be supporting local charities with her sponsorship money.
