ROBY HOUSE DONATE PINDERS PRIZE TO AGE CONCERN
Roby House has been chosen as one of three finalists for the prestigious Pinders Healthcare Design Awards 2007 in the category of Best New Development. After over a year of construction the long awaited Roby House Care Centre opened in August 2006 replacing the dilapidated Connaughtons Care Centre that once stood just behind the new site.
Residents now enjoy the comfort of the new 54 bedroom Roby House, all rooms feature en suite facilities and there are large lounges, dining and quiet areas for residents to relax and entertain visitors. The care centre also boasts a state of the art cinema room and relaxation therapy room for those residents who like to be pampered.
Care Centre Manager Pam Case is delighted with the award, she comments: ‘There has been an enormous amount of hard work carried out by builders, contractors and especially the Roby House staff to ensure that the running of the project remained smooth. It has been worth the wait, Roby House is a stunning facility and it is nice to see this recognised by the industry through the Pinders Award. We have donated our prize money to Age Concern Knowsley as they provide us and the local elderly people with a huge amount of support and we would like to help them carry this on.’
