5 Star Westwood Lodge makes the grade two years running

Meridian Healthcare’s Westwood Lodge in Wigan has achieved the RDB 5* accreditation for the second year running.

Established for the care industry, RDB works in partnership with local authorities and the private sector as an independent rating system to acknowledge and promote the delivery of excellent care and recognises those who provide it.

Westwood Lodge was acquired by the award winning Meridian Healthcare group in July 2006. Staff are proud to have received the rating, Care Centre Manager, Maria Mather comments: ‘It is a recognition of the high standard of care we work hard to provide’ she adds, ‘It is a great achievement to be one of the best in Wigan and this rating sets the benchmark for the quality of care in the area, providing this level of care is an everyday ongoing process for all of us and we are continually seeking ways to improve on our success’.

Joining Meridian Healthcare in July 2006, Westwood Lodge is a fine example of high quality care and environment the group strives for in all its care centres. Offering 76 single rooms all with en suite facilities the purpose built centre provides nursing and specialist care. Westwood Lodge also boasts a variety of social activities with the aim of making residents feel as comfortable and at home as possible.
