Roby House celebrates official opening by Liverpool lad Gerry Marsden MBE

Meridian Healthcare’s most recent addition Roby House Care Centre in Huyton celebrated its official opening in style on the 29th November with special guest Gerry Marsden MBE of Gerry and the Pacemakers.

Best known for the hits ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ and ‘Ferry across the Mersey’ Gerry has more recently turned his talents to charity work. Gerry officially opened Roby House by unveiling an original Columbia Records disc of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ for the centre memorial plaque.

During his visit Gerry took a tour around the superb purpose built care centre and proved a huge hit with residents keeping them giggling long into the afternoon, Gerry comments: ‘I am impressed by the fantastic facilities and the friendly, caring atmosphere created by all the staff at Roby House, it was a pleasure to be asked to open such a lovely place.’

Roby House offers residential and specialist dementia care for the elderly. Located in private grounds all 54 bed-sitting rooms have en-suite facilities, some with en suite showers. A variety of lounge, dining areas and quiet rooms are ideal for visitors. With accommodation over two floors Roby House also has a hairdressing salon and a cinema room. For the more adventurous Liverpool City centre is a short bus ride away.

If you would like to come and view Roby House Care Centre and experience the environment and discuss the services offered please make an appointment by contacting the Care Centre Manager, Pamela Case on 0151 482 4440.
