Meridian Healthcare’s Greatwood House in Denton celebrated earlier this month to commemorate the care centre being open for 40 years.

Champagne flowed as staff past and present, residents and local healthcare professionals celebrated at the care centre. Both Alan Wainwright, Non-Executive Director at Meridian Healthcare and Eve Hone, Quality Assurance Manager for the Meridian Healthcare Group, spoke about the developments and changes that had taken place over the years at Greatwood.

Resident Claire Eades also contributed on the day saying a few words about life at Greatwood House and how much all the residents enjoy living there. Other residents contributed thoughts about the Care Centre for the past and present display of photographs and memorabilia put together by Greatwood staff. Debbie Thomson, who has been Care Centre Manager at Greatwood House for 19 years, commented, ‘It feels great to be here as Manager as we reach this milestone. This is a vibrant home and people really enjoy living here.’

Greatwood House offers residential care and day care to the older community in the Denton and Tameside area.
