Celebrations took place at Meridian Healthcare’s Hyde Nursing Home to commemorate the 105th birthday of resident Lillian Pearson.

Lillian has been a resident at Hyde Nursing Home since 2003 and was previously a resident at Meridian Healthcare’s Hurst Hall in Ashton. Celebrations took place this week with a visit from the Mayor, Councillor Jacqueline Lane and members of Lillian’s family.

Lillian has three children, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Born on 17th November 1900, Lillian was married to Walter a foreman printer but has been widowed since 1966. Lillian herself was a machinist and during World War II worked in munitions. Lillian lived in Audenshaw up until 1970 when she moved to Ashton to be closer to her family.

Family spanning 4 generations attended the celebrations with staff, fellow residents and an entertainer all taking part during the afternoon’s celebrations.
