MERIDIAN HEALTHCARE SCOOPS TOP BUSINESS AWARD IN THE NORTH WEST

Hyde-based healthcare group Meridian healthcare was crowned the winner in the Manchester Evening News Business of the Year Awards £10 - £25m turnover category.

Alan Firth, Managing Director, received the award with Directors Barry Brooks and Susan Firth and thanked employees throughout the company for their commitment to high levels of service and quality as well as long term partners: Bank of Scotland; Premier Corporate Finance and Locket Loveday McMahon. A special thanks was said to Alan Wainwright, Non Executive Director who has been with the company from its conception.

The prestigious event was hosted by Manchester Evening News. The Right Hon. William Hague entertained the North West’s most successful businesses and introduced the awards.

Judges of the awards were impressed by the market leading levels of service and customer care provided by Meridian, in a sector categorised by varying levels of quality.

After a difficult transition from local authority care, Managing Director Alan Firth has led the company to success as an independent healthcare provider. The company now provides essential residential and nursing services to over 1000 older people and employs nearly 1000 people.
