New Bedroom at Hyde Nursing Home

HYDE NURSING HOME RECEIVES AN INTERIOR DESIGN TOUCH

28/07/2005
Meridian Healthcare has implemented a refurbishment programme at Hyde Nursing Home in Hyde. The first 10 of the 25 en suite bedrooms at Newton Court have been refurbished with the remaining 15 bedrooms on the unit due to be completed over the next two months. In all Hyde Nursing Home has 100 en suite bedrooms, which are to be subjected to a full upgrade over the next twelve months.

The sizeable upgrade programme also includes furniture, fittings, carpet and décor at the busy care centre. “We want to make sure that our clients who come to Hyde Nursing Home are treated in the best possible environment and have the most comfortable and practical fittings and furniture around them to ease their stay with us.” Commented Alan Firth, Managing Director of Meridian Healthcare.

In addition to the initial upgrade of the 10 bedrooms, the dining area, lounge and quiet room have all received the Company’s ‘interior designers touch’. Work will continue throughout the rest of the care centre over the next 12 months with all refurbishment work due to be completed by autumn 2006. Alan further stressed that the upgrade is not merely cosmetic. “Furniture and fittings have been selected to provide a comfortable, attractive and practical living environment for the specialist nursing care that people seek from our Hyde facility”.

Care Centre Manager Anne-Marie Thompson commented that she has already received very positive feedback from residents, relatives and other visitors to the first phase, ‘The changes have made all the difference and residents are delighted with their new rooms, all staff and residents are now looking forward to seeing the changes throughout the rest of the care centre’

The development work is in keeping with Meridian Healthcare’s strategy to provide 5-star accommodation and service provision to older people, across all their Care Centres. The group has recently completed extensive work at Acacia Court in Leeds, Fazakerley House in Prescot, Liverpool and Daisy Nook House in the Ashton area of Tameside. There is also a substantial 54 bed care centre in the process of being built in the Roby area of Huyton. Due to open in July 2006, this facility promises to be “state of the art” with regard to elderly care provision.
