WEDDING WORKS FOR RACHEL

24/05/2005
Caring Rachel couldn’t resist popping into work on her wedding day. Care assistant Rachel Maponga celebrated her wedding on Friday and made a special visit to her workplace so that residents at Meridian Healthcare’s Sandon House could help her celebrate her marriage.

Rachel, who has been a care assistant at Meridian Healthcare’s Sandon House in Mossley for 18 months and winner of the Tameside College ‘Outstanding Adult Learner 2004’, married fiancé Kevin Mulvey in a ceremony at Dukinfield Registry Office on Friday.

After the ceremony, Rachel and Kevin visited Sandon House where delighted residents had prepared a wedding cake, an archway of flowers and each were wearing buttonholes to mark the occasion. A Bucks Fizz toast was made to the happy couple before they left to continue their celebrations with close friends and family.

Care Centre Manager at Sandon House Irene Booth commented, “Everyone at Sandon House would all like to congratulate Rachel and Kevin and thank them for involving our residents in their special day. We wish them all the best for their future.”
