Judges from the awards visited the Holmfirth based care centre in February along with two other finalists. The panel of judges are made up of experienced healthcare valuers, architects, developers, lenders and charitable bodies representing the residents’ view of home design and build. The winners were announced at a Gala presentation luncheon held in London on 23 March 2005.

About the awards The healthcare design awards have been staged for the past ten years with award categories selected to recognise the achievements of the widest range of designers, developers and operators. According to Pinders, the awards seek to recognise a range of factors “Whilst architectural standards and innovation are key factors, the overriding test for any project has to be the degree to which it has recognised the needs and desires of the residents and incorporated these into the final design”
