Rose Marlor celebrated her milestone 100th birthday with family, staff and other residents at Greatwood House in Denton last weekend. Rose who enjoyed a champagne toast with the borough Mayor, the Worshipful Councillor William Harris.

Born in 1905 in Wallasey, Rose spent part of her youth in London before returning to the North West to live in Manchester. She married her husband Alfred in 1929 in Denton and they had two daughters. Rose is now a grandmother of three and has six great grandchildren. Following the death of her husband Rose lived in Denton with her daughter close by before moving into Greatwood House aged 95.
