MERIDIAN ACQUIRE ANOTHER CARE CENTRE IN LIVERPOOL

24/01/2005
Hyde’s Meridian Healthcare has acquired another purpose built care centre in Merseyside. Ash Court Care Centre in Knotty Ash has 35 single bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities and 1 companion room, which brings the total number of beds available within the group to 965.

The acquisition follows the purchase of three care centres from Cornerstone Care in Merseyside in July 2004, and the development of a new 60-bed facility in Holmfirth earlier this year. The new home complements Meridian Healthcare’s current portfolio of residential and nursing centres and will further strengthen its northern offering.

Commenting Alan Firth, Managing Director of Meridian Healthcare, said: “The acquisition is in line with Meridian Healthcare’s strategy of developing its portfolio of quality care centres outside its core Tameside area. The group now has a total of 965 beds, and is now operating four residential homes in the Merseyside area. We look forward to introducing the manager at Ash Court Care Centre to the rest of the group.”

Meridian Healthcare will continue to actively pursue suitable purpose built acquisition opportunities.

Ends.
