CARING KATHRYN COMPLETES 25 YEARS SERVICE
Kathryn Newton began working in 1979 as a Night Care Assistant with the elderly at Hyde Hospital and at Hyde Nursing and Care Centre. ‘I started working nights because as a young mother in 1979 there were few daytime childcare facilities. I have always been a night owl so it suits me better than a daytime job’. She continued: ‘I regard the night as an important part of the 24 hour care of residents. It is just as important as daytime activities and I try to reflect this in my work’.
Mike Farmer, Operations Director commented: ‘the care sector is a rewarding yet challenging environment in which to work. To have devoted 25 years to the care of vulnerable older people is extraordinary. We are delighted to recognise Kathryn’s achievement and to thank her for her contribution to Hyde Nursing and Care Centre. We hope that this will encourage others to consider night work as a viable option when bringing up a family.’
WELL DONE KATHRYN!
