WINNING WHITE ROSE HOUSE
The award is for ‘Best new development for the elderly’ and is based how well the needs and desires of residents have been incorporated into the design, as well as the architectural standards of the building. Finalists are subjected to a rigorous onsite visit in February with winners announced at a luncheon in London in March this year. All finalists receive a cheque for £500 for their nominated local charity.
White Rose House Nursing & Care Centre was completed in July 2004 and was built by local construction firm, Conroy Brook. The building design took into account views from the local community and hospital as well as healthcare professionals in the borough.Meridian Care Operations Director, Susan Firth is delighted with the news: ‘Congratulations and thanks must go to everyone in Holmfirth involved in this development. White Rose House is what Meridian Care considers to be a ‘5-star’ facility, both in terms of the building design and quality of services provided. I am very pleased that this has been recognised at a national level’

· White Rose House provides 40 residential beds and 20 nursing beds for the local community
