Meridian Care is building a new residential and nursing care centre for the elderly in Holmfirth. The care centre will accommodate up to 60 residents and will open in July 2004. Construction began in August 2003 on the care centre which is located behind the Holme Valley Memorial Hospital in Holmfirth. Construction work will continue until June 2004, at which time it will be fully furnished to an exceptionally high level of quality.

The care centre is open to people requiring long or short term residential or nursing care. Offering superb views, residents will be able to look out over the Holme Valley either from its spacious lounge or high quality dining areas and professionally landscaped gardens.

The care centre will open its doors in July 2004 and is already taking expressions of interest from potential residents and their families as well as job enquiries from people seeking employment or a change in their career.

The Meridian Care residential and nursing centre will provide a much needed care facility for the elderly in the Holme Valley, which has seen 2 care homes close in the last year. Since the builders boards were erected around 6 weeks ago, well over 20 enquiries about residential spaces at the centre have been received giving an early indication that the facility will be well supported by the local community.
