HOLMFIRTH SAYS ‘Yes’ TO A RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING CARE CENTRE FOR THE ELDERLY
Holmfirth’s first '5 star‘ accommodation for the elderly received registration approval and started to accept and admit residents on 12th July. Although there are a few vacancies left, many rooms were reserved during the public open days. The centre is situated behind the Holme Valley Memorial Hospital.
In a political climate which advocates care at home and which has seen two homes in the area close in the last twelve months, Meridian Healthcare recognised that local demand was for a superb purpose built facility which could take care of the most vulnerable members of the Holmfirth community. In support of their views, the group has received a steady stream of enquiries and room reservations since August 2003 when building work started.
The centre acommodates up to 60 residential and nursing clients in single en-suite bedrooms and is furnished and layed out to exceptionally high standards in order to meet the demands of the elderly in the 21st century.
The care centre is open to people requiring long or short term residential or nursing care. With superb views, that allow residents to look out over the Holme Valley either from one of the spacious lounges or high quality dining areas. Residents and their visitors can also relax in the professionally landscaped gardens and patio areas.
Ends.
