Award winning Meridian Healthcare announced today that work had commenced on the second phase of their care centre site in Huyton, Knowsley. Building contractors Redworths started work on the new care centre development in January and is expected to complete in Spring 2009.

The new, state of the art care centre will be the sister home to the already popular Roby House which opened in 2006. Roby Lodge will provide first class residential care for up to 40 older people in 5 star surroundings.

The new care centre is scheduled to open in Spring 2009 and will provide 40 large spacious single bedrooms, all with en suite facilities. The facility will also include a comfortable lounge, dining and quiet rooms and landscaped and secure patio areas in which residents can relax.

In addition to exceptional living accommodation, plans are in place to provide will an in-house hairdressing salon and a relaxation therapy room. The relaxation therapy room is a feature popular with residents at Meridian Healthcare’s existing homes and one that has been seen to be particularly beneficial for older people who suffer with dementia related conditions.
