Meridian Healthcare’s Kingsfield Care Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne is proud to announce the completion of improvement work that has added 2 single en suite bedrooms, a shower room and a relaxation therapy room (Snoozelum) to the home.

The 2 large en suite bedrooms has taken Kingsfield’s bed total to 52. The new bedrooms have been finished to a high standard, complimenting the homes existing bedrooms. Each room is bright, spacious, with tasteful décor, modern furniture and fittings, and completed with high quality carpets, curtains and bedding.

The creation of a relaxation therapy room, colloquially known as a Snoozelum will benefit the residents at Kingsfield, as the home specialises in care for older people who suffer with dementia related conditions. Experience of the Snoozelum facilities in other Meridian homes has proven that the rooms designed to stimulate all the senses have a calming influence on residents who often become agitated due to their conditions. The relaxation and calming atmosphere has been seen to improve behaviour, communication and promote reminiscence an activity often enjoyed by residents.

Staff and residents at Kingsfield will be officially celebrating the completion of their investment project with an open day party on Thursday 13th September 2-4pm, all are welcome to take this opportunity to join us and to experience Kingsfield’s facilities for themselves.
