
NEW DEVELOPMENT IN LEEDS
The Meridian group will make a major investment into ‘Rievaulx House' in Armley, Leeds. Named Rievaulx House after the North Yorkshire medieval monastery, this facility is forecast to be a UK showcase care centre for older people.
Work commences in mid March and is expected to complete in early July 2008.
The proposed care centre is to be built on a site known locally as 'The Grange', a former night club site. Situated next to Meridian Healthcare's Amber Lodge, the combined Rievaulx House and Amber Lodge facilties will provide a range of much needed high quality care packages for older people in the Leeds area.
What are the plans?
Development of spacious high quality accommodation for 50 older people. Each room will be a minimum of 16-18 square metres, offering some of the largest room sizes in the Leeds area today.
• 50 en suite bedrooms all with private showers
• Some ground floor rooms will offer courtyard access and have individual patio areas
• Targeted to be 'officially open' by July 2008
• Secure and attractively landscaped site with inner courtyards
• On site hairdressing salon, spacious lounges and restaurant areas, Cinema room and Relaxation Therapy Room.
• Creation of over 40 new jobs for local people
Meridian Healthcare’s proposal will see the development of accommodation for older people requiring long term residential care. Attractive apartment style accommodation will create a safe and secure haven for older people in Armley.
