Millbrook School competition winners
As part of the ongoing cooperation with Meridian's new Millbrook Care Centre development in Stalybridge, children at Millbrook school were asked to enter an art competition that showed their vision of the future. The winning pictures have been judged by the project team and the senior management team at Meridian Healthcare.
The winners have their artwork displayed on a large hoarding on Huddersfield Road surrounding the new Millbrook Care Centre construction site. Winners from each class were invited to see the new hoardings, which were erected on Thursday 3rd March. They were also given a tour of the site and learnt about children who went to school in the original Millbrook school building. The original school facade has been saved and incorporated into the design of the new care centre.
The art competition was organised by the Millbrook Care Centre project team as part of a programme of activities and talks they have been doing with the school children on the care centre. The £3.9 million care centre will care for up to 46 older people from the area and is scheduled to open in Autumn 2011.
